The alphas were the dominant breed, and were able to form a bond with either a beta or an omega, if they ever found one. Alpha and alphas bonds were rare, even more so than an alpha bonding with an omega. The betas were the people who were tagged as ‘normal’. They could only form a bond with an alpha, and never with an omega. They made up a little bit over half the population.
The omegas were somewhat rare, only making up about 10% of the population. They were considered low-class, and older people discriminated against them.
No one wanted to be an omega, as they were the ones pushed around and dominated. Most people wanted to be presented as a beta, as many couldn’t handle the stress of an alpha, who would have to maintain their territory. Most omegas were unhappy with their title.John Egbert was an exception.

Brook chuckled. “Yep. I actually knew that one.” He shifted lightly, his fingers starting to tap out a different tune. Brook grinned. “Yorki used to tease me mercilessly for having the wings and eyesight of a bat. I daresay I’ve heard about every possible fact and jab about Noivern that exists.”
Robin chuckled. “Pity. And here I was wanting to tease.” She finished picking the flowers out of one of his wings, moving to the other one. “You know, they are quite beautiful,” Robin mused.
“What?”
“Your wings.” Robin gestured at them with a hand.
“O- oh. Thank you.”
“You don’t believe me?” Robin tilted her head.
“I…” Brook hesitated, his hands switched tunes. “Maybe they used to be. But even if they were, it didn’t last. Beautiful things never seem to.”

One Piece pokémon wings universe
Foco no Brook, sua vida antes e depois de morrer, sua relação próxima com o Yorki (que o ensinou a fazer crochê) e principalmente sua relação com suas asas, ainda mais quando depois de ressuscitar elas se tornaram apenas esqueletos.
Por muito tempo Brook sentiu uma grande dissociação com o próprio corpo, ele não conseguia ver suas mãos esqueléticas e dizer que eram dele. Sua sanidade literalmente sendo segurada por um fio que era crochetar. Um dia, Brook acabou se enrolando na linha e teve uma ideia de criar suas asas de a partir da lã.
Thriller Bark aconteceu, ele entrou pros mugiwaras e Luffy o ajudou a crochetar uma nova asa já que a de antes foi destruída na batalha. Durante toda a fic vemos como cada um dos mugiwaras ajudaram o Brook a ficar bem, voltar a ganhar sanidade, não se sentir excluído ou até mesmo esquisito demais e passar a amar de verdade suas asas esqueléticas de crochê.
No final, Luffy se junta com Chopper e Usopp para refazerem novamente as asas do Brook (é uma ativadade bem constante já que ele precisa reajustar o tamanho quando fica largo demais ou algum dano acontece) com uma surpresa especial. Eles colocaram várias contas formando pequenos símbolos como flores e notas musicais, usaram uma lã que o próprio Chopper escolheu e o Luffy fez questão de ter aprendido exatamente como crochetar as asas dele.
Brook chorou ao ver esse presente e pensou que talvez ele finalmente estivesse aprendendo a amar suas asas após tanto tempo.
