“See, you’re a natural, Alexander.” Magnus murmured, his voice smooth as silk. Alec let out a soft huff. “Pretty sure that’s just you making me look good. “Magnus hummed in amusement, his fingers squeezing Alec’s ever so slightly. “Or maybe,” he said, voice dipping lower, “you were always good at this, you just needed the right partner.”
Alec’s breath caught. Magnus was looking at him with such open affection, such certainty, that it made his heart stutter in his chest. His fingers curled slightly around Magnus’s, grounding himself in the warmth between them.

Daisy is about to turn 18, which throws Alec into a state of agitation fuelled by the realisation that his little girl is growing up faster than he ever thought possible (or was psychologically prepared for).
