Satoru flounders, just a little. “Hi, Suguru,” he mumbles. He tilts his head downwards towards his shoes, ashamed at his own insufferable need to cling to Suguru.
They don’t say anything for a few minutes, only staring at him with a somewhat blank expression, as if they’re figuring out what to do or say. Then, they open the door wider to let him in. Satoru hesitates, preparing himself to turn around and walk away, to pretend like this didn’t happen, but Suguru takes his hand in theirs and pulls him in.
“You okay?” they ask as they shut the door behind him. Their hand doesn’t stray from Satoru’s, fingers entwined and calluses scraping against calluses. It’s comforting in the way that Suguru always is.
