Summary
In a Hisui where omegas are viewed as little more than extensions of their alpha’s will, Rei keeps the truth of his sex a secret, knowing the fate that will likely befall him. A secret he is only able to keep for so long, as his first heat outs him to all of Jubilife.
Volo may not have known the truth of Arceus’s chosen early enough to act, but he had always prided himself on being resourceful. There were ways to ensure the little omega could still be his even given that Rei was now bonded to another. Sometimes obstacles needed to be permanently removed for the greater good.

Summary
Kamado was reluctant to let Rei go, and fortunately he's due back today. The commander was so delighted to see him again that he went to meet him outside instead of waiting at his office. And what did he see?
Rei, his omega, in the arms of Adaman, an alpha. The worst part? Rei was being rocked by Adaman who was rubbing his back, affectionately, as if to comfort him. The most painful to watch was Adaman's departure, as he took the opportunity to kiss Rei's forehead to wish him a good rest.
Rei was kissed by an alpha other than Kamado. Rule Three, the commander's most important rule, has been broken: Rei can’t see other alphas.

As soon as Kamado saw the boy savoring the scent of his jacket with slight moans, he knew right away what was happening to him.

Summary
Abandoned by his alpha after their confrontation on Mount Coronet, Rei is left to raise his and Volo’s child alone, all while working to complete his mission from Arceus. All he can do is try and move forward, hoping the deity will allow him to return home if only he can somehow complete his god-given task. Even if the means to accomplish said task feel more and more impossible while balancing the needs of caring for his newborn son.
Adaman may not know the full details of Rei’s situation, but he knows he wants to help. He had remained respectful of Rei’s mated status while Volo had been around, had done his best to repress his true feelings for the omega.
But now that Volo was out of the picture…
Maybe now was his chance to prove to Rei that he could be the alpha he needed. That he was the one worthy of having Rei’s heart.
Even if having sex with Rei during the omega’s visit to the settlement, all while knowing full well Rei had to still be hung up on Volo, maybe wasn’t the best first step to proving this.

When the two had stood before Cogita, asking for the clue to the next (final, Volo’s mind had whispered) plate, she had almost seemed to hesitate. Her gaze had shifted to Rei’s stomach, a look of what might have been pity crossing her features before her response.
“I’m afraid I’ve no idea where the next plate could possibly be.” she had responded, her gaze losing its softness and becoming more pointed when it had shifted to Volo. “Besides, do the two of you not have more pressing concerns you should be tending to.”

When Rei is exiled from Jubilife and Volo comes to his aid, the boy’s ill-timed heat results in a complication neither are certain how to deal with. Despite their best efforts to track down the remaining plates before their baby is due, Cogita’s lack of help on tracking down the pixie plate means they aren’t able to find them all in time.But Volo is nothing if not adaptable. He isn’t about to let something like a baby stop him from continuing his search. And for that matter, neither is Rei. Even if he is beginning to question if continuing the search is really the correct choice anymore.
