Enjoy this Headspace-centric silly fic about everyone's favorite quirky Earthbound-inspired indie RPG party having fun together in Sunny's head. Most of the fic is set in the mid 2010s because I felt like it.
I don't really have an ending in mind. It's more like a collection of dumb stories than anything.

On the last day before Sunny leaves Faraway, he stabs himself. Soon afterwards, he finds that he's back a few days prior and that all his progress in Headspace has followed suit with the exceptions being his skills, items and weapons.
When Kel knocks on his door in the Real World, Sunny is once again left with an ultimatum. Refuse to answer the door and do the exact same thing he did the first time this happened or step outside for the first time in years. This time, he decides to experience something different.
While Omori goes through Headspace once again, fighting foes he's already fought, who have all gained much greater power than before, while Sunny tries to reconnect with old friends before he leaves, haunted by repressed memories, secrets and emotions. Two vastly different journeys with a single commonality. Wherever one goes, a White Tulip follows.

The seemingly still wave of human connection actually follows an ebb and a flow, as does a variety of other things such as health, mentality, and meaning. So far, the group has managed to overcome life's various obstacles but are now tasked with facing reality and learning to understand the differences in each other, the trauma that follows them, and what it means to have a full wave of connection. Healing comes with costs and consequences.

I love angst in my fics so please review the tags if you have anything you're sensitive to. I don't like sugarcoating things, but I try not to romanticize them either. Nothing's been pressing lately, so things have felt pretty calm in Headspace for Mari in recent times. Maybe a little too calm... but perhaps inheriting 51% of the Deep Well and an unhinged lust for power will spice things up for her a bit!
