“The Book has given us all the knowledge we need,” Sigma reminds him. She removes her hands from his shoulders, taking a moment to ruffle his hair before stepping back. “Besides, if you do mess up, I’ll be right there to help you out.”
Karma exhales a quiet sigh of relief. Sigma is right; as long as he allows the false memories he was given to guide him, he’ll be fine. According to the Book, he’s been working here for two years and he picked up everything so quickly that Sigma promoted him to second-in-command despite him only being a teenager. It was a necessary position for him, since he’s the only other one who knows the truth of the casino, but it still makes his heart swell with pride.
Second in command. It’s not the high mafia position he wanted, but he’s literally at the top of the world here. So it’s close enough, at least for now.
