An alternate reality where Marshall is a realistic rockstar with the ancient history of being a bard, and Bubba is a realistic prince with expectations as the leader of a country. Things aren't as easy as "I love you and want to be with you".

Prince Barnaby, the intelligent and multi-faceted jewel of the Candy Kingdom has recently bared witness to his parents assassination. Who killed them isn't as important as getting him crowned before Lady Lemongrab shows up and fucks it all up. However, before this all takes place, he finds out that the Vampire Queen will be formally stepping down, creating room for a different monarch of the Nightosphere. Marshall Lee Abadeer is to take her place, and from Barnaby's understanding, he sucks at anything relating to royal duties. So, will Barnaby help his old friend out to learn what it means to be a King? Will their friendship develope into an unbreakable allyship between the two kingdoms?

“I keep telling myself it’ll be just like losing my real mom.” Marshall Lee’s voice was flat. “I mean, it can’t be any worse than that.”
G.B. wanted to say something to stop Marshall Lee, but the conversation was horrifying, and he found he couldn’t speak against the lump in his throat.
“Simone tells me she loves me every day. Sometimes more than once. It’s nice.” His voice was emotionless. “And my real mom told me I never should have been born, that she didn’t want anything to do with me, that she had never loved me. That nobody would ever love me.”
“You can’t believe that,” G.B. managed, his voice hoarse.
“My mom told me that,” said Marshall Lee, with a touch of irritation. “Your mom is like the only person who’s required to love you. If she doesn’t love you, then who will?”
G.B. couldn’t get the words out, and Marshall Lee hung up.
