The only thing worse than a plane crash was a plane crash on a violent cannibal-filled island with little hope of rescue.
That wasn’t a string of words Keith even remotely thought was possible to mean seriously, but somehow here he was. He still didn’t understand why he was chosen as the leader of their motley crew of survivors, but by god, was he going to keep these idiots alive, even if they all lost their sanity along the way.
(Or: A classic stranded on an island au where Keith is the only partially sane one and he should probably get child leashes for everyone else)

After the war ends, Lance goes out to space again to join Keith in the Blade of Marmora. Before he can even make it to the Blade main base, he is captured by radical Galra who still follow Zarkon's ways. Keith loses his mind with worry. Luckily Lance is able to give Keith a hint about how to find him. Keith stops at nothing until Lance is safely in his arms.

“T-Takashi?” Adam pivoted on one heel slowly, turning to face them with pure astonishment written over his face. Shiro’s breath got caught in his throat. Adam was still so beautiful.
He floundered for words. Then, gracefully, he could only croak; “Hi, Adam.”
“Do you even recognize him, commander? Its Takashi Shirogane! Your old friend!” Elijah cried, eyes bright. He looked between the two, as if expecting them to also break into delighted cackles. Shiro felt rather as if he was going to vomit.
“I recognize him,” Adam said. His eyes slid to Shiro’s arm, widened imperceptibly. Shiro flinched. “It’s been a long time, Shiro. I see a lot has changed.”Essentially, Pidge discovered that Adam wasn't killed in the initial attack. He escaped death and apparently he's been leading a rebellion in Japan? Shiro leaves to find him and a new journey unfolds.

It’s kinda creepy that the graph Hunk made of Voltron’s emission spectrum looks exactly like the outcropping of rock Keith found of the cave systems near them.

Hunk, to put it frankly, has never been the greatest at hiding his emotions. People could read his heart like a poster pinned to the wall of a dental office. But this? This was going to take every ounce of restraint he had, any control he had over his emotions that lay themselves bare. It was the one condition they had agreed upon, the only rule that was absolutely, unconditionally, no-excuses-what-so-ever, nonnegotiable in the matter of following it. To the T. Under no circumstances, ever, were they supposed to allow their relationship to interfere with their roles as paladins. Period. No if's and's or or's about it. And Hunk, poor, endearing Hunk, is finding it increasingly hard to follow through on that rule.

The five times Hunk let his feelings get in the way of a Voltron duty, or two, and the one time Pidge did just the same.

It’s been seven months since she’d last seen Lance without a computer screen between them, so the extra set of hands he offers is just a bonus when staring down the three flights of stairs to her dorm room. College Lance was...different, in a refreshing way. He seemed more at ease here, hair grown out enough that the ends were starting to curl the way they had in his baby photos and complexion glowing from the long summer months, holding on to the box Katie had fought to lift just from the trunk into her arms like it was nothing. He was smiling, eyes full of mirth as he squinted through the midday sun, and Katie realized that for once in her life she made a gross miscalculation.
Things Katie Holt excels at, abridged: calculus, theoretical physics, JavaScript and Objective-C, tetris when the screen is more than half full, pouring a perfect milk-to-cereal ratio.
A list of things Katie Holt wishes she excelled less at: having a big, stupid crush on her best friend.

Keith had never really considered himself to be the type of person to find someone immediately attractive. He didn’t find people attractive in general, just annoying. It was probably why his last few relationships had failed. To be fair, talking about golf tactics while you’re in your early twenties doesn’t exactly scream late night parties and fun dates. Even if the guy was incredibly sweet and a pretty good lay.
Regardless, Keith didn’t exactly believe in that whole love at first sight propaganda. His brother did; it was how he had found his girlfriend of three years. He told the story with doe eyes and a goopy smile that made Keith want to pull his insides out just to have an excuse to save himself from the story again. No, love at first sight was not a thing.
