Summary
It wasn't fair, but it was happening: Ponyboy was being taken out of Darry's custody and placed with his Uncle Ronny, an out-of-touch and unheard of farmer someways south of Tulsa.
-
Ronny wasn't all bad, but he wasn't at all good, and Ponyboy resolved to get through the situation best he could, do his chores, shut his mouth.
Until a stranger arrived at the door of the farmhouse. Then his priorities shifted again to one objective.

Summary
Ponyboy is tired of not being able to fight back like everyone else, so he seeks out the help of someone else to learn how to fight. He wasn't expecting to make a new friend out of it, and he definitely wasn't expecting all the things he'd face either.
(In this fanfic Johnny never gets the chance to stab Bob. Things turn out a lot different because of it.)
The NEW AND IMPROVED version of a knockout pony.

Ponyboy grabbed the book.
The cover read: The Outsiders, by Ponyboy Curtis.
That was the title he had in mind for his English theme—but he had only written one line. He hadn’t even started. So how was it here, finished, right in front of him?

Summary
Friendship/romance, starts out mostly focused on Soda putting on a good face while having Issues. However, as story progresses Darry and Ponyboy get a chance to work through some things, too. This fic is heavily focused on healing from the grief/trauma they went through in the book. Emotions run high in here. Sexual activity is acknowledged but not in any heavy detail. However, there are mature themes related to abuse, assault, mental health/suicide.
NOTE: if you're looking for a new chapter,
and you've already read to the end, sometimes I post inserts/expansions. When I do that, I usually will put "NEW" in the chapter title. Also, currently figuring out the timeline for April 1966 so there may be some flipping of chapters there. I'll remove this note when it's more final. I post updates as I write them, often revise them multiple times still after posting as the story progresses and ideas come up.Finally: comments help me stay motivated and I love to incorporate others' ideas when possible. Stop and say hi if you like the story. :)

Summary
Ponyboy's always been the quiet one—bookish, skittish, and painted in shades of bashful red whenever affection touches him too closely. But to Darry and Sodapop, he's the sun they orbit, the softness they protect in a world far too rough.
This is a story stitched with warmth, where every brush of fingers through his hair, every shared laugh at the kitchen table, and every sleepy moment on the couch says one thing: you’re ours. And we love you more than life itself.
And maybe—just maybe—Ponyboy is starting to believe it.

Summary
Darry’s eyes flicked away again, like he couldn’t hold Soda’s gaze for long without something cracking open. “I dunno. You’re scared, and I can’t even comfort you properly.”
“You’re comforting me right now,” Soda said quietly.
Darry snorted, not mean, just doubtful. “By sittin’ here like an idiot and talkin’ about bills?”
“Yeah. By sittin’ here and tryin’,” Soda said, a little more firmly now. “By not brushin’ me off. By admitting you don’t know what to do. That counts, D. Y'think I need some perfect speech? I don’t. I just need you.”
Darry let out a breath and leaned back in his chair. His arms crossed over his chest, like he needed to hold himself together.
—
Sodapop wakes in a cold sweat, haunted by a nightmare he can’t remember, only that it was about Darry and Pony and losing them. When he finds Darry still awake at the kitchen table, buried in bills and silence, the two brothers end up talking in a way they haven’t in years. It’s clumsy at first — Darry doesn’t always have the words, and Soda doesn’t always know how to ask — but somewhere between the hot chocolate and the half-light of the early morning, they start to figure it out. -

Summary
Dallas hadn’t spoken to his kid brother in six years. Not since he’d left New York.
If he was honest, he hadn’t really even thought about the kid. At first, it had just been too painful. But it got easier. And the farther and farther South he found himself the easier it had become to forget about Ponyboy Winston.
---
Or the AU where Ponyboy Winston is sent down to Tulsa to live with his brother Dallas. But it would only be for five months. Because Ponyboy would never forgive his brother for leaving. He and Dallas would never get along...right?

Summary
He places the empty bowl into the soapy water, followed by a plate empty of anything save cracker crumbs, and has just placed them in the drying rack when there’s a knock at the door. Darry freezes.
No one he knows would knock. No one. Not the gang, or any of the hoods from around town that crashed from time to time. Tim Shepard did, but he knocked while he was opening a door in a way Darry recognized came from sharing a too small house with too many siblings, it wasn’t so much a knock as it was an announcement of his presence. The only folks who ever actually knocked were people that didn’t belong at their house, who shouldn’t be here. Police. Social workers. People who brought nothing but bad news and empty platitudes, who made his life a living hell.

Summary
“Pony,” Soda whispered, voice barely more than breath. “Please talk to me.”
Pony didn’t move. Didn’t flinch. Just stayed curled up, facing the wall.
“Pony, please,” Soda said again, and now there was a crack in it. Real worry. “Me and Dar, we’re scared. I miss you, honey.”
The words hit him harder than the bruises ever could.
A hand slipped gently into his hair, brushing it back the way it always used to. Pony swallowed, hard.
“‘M okay, Soda,” he mumbled. His voice was thin, frayed at the edges. “It’s okay.”
“It’s not,” Soda said softly. “You look like you’re fading away.”
—
When a group of Socs corner Ponyboy and beat him up, they don’t just leave bruises — they leave doubts. Doubts about whether he really belongs with Darry and Sodapop. Doubts about whether he’s anything more than a stray they took pity on. Afraid to be a burden, Pony begins to pull away from the only real family he’s ever known. But Darry and Soda aren’t about to let him go without a fight.

Summary
Ponyboy Curtis and Curly Shepherd have a sort of mutual feelings for each other that they don't realize.
But when they start to realize, that's when the Curtis gang starts to show just how much they did like Curly. Always interrupting them. Especially Johnny and Dallas who are strangely.Jealous?
Ponyboy Curtis wouldn't mind being in love with a boy, if that didn't mean being in love with Curly Shepard.
Curly Shepherd wouldn't mind being in love he with Ponyboy Curtis, if that didn't mean being in love with a boy.
(This has nothing to do with the story, it's just a quote i found on TicTok and wanted to share) ^-^
