On a whim, the workplace decided to celebrate with drinks at a local pub, so Will had no choice but to trudge along. Great. Not even five minutes in, and it looked like he was completely forgotten at the corner of the table. He was never a fan of the yelling, the mess, or the fact he’d sit there by himself in awkward silence regardless, so he might just slip through the back—no one would notice let alone miss him anyway.
Then, a certain suave man in a three-piece suit walks through the doors and into Will’s life. Plans change, and so do Will’s feelings about get-togethers.

He doesn’t reply, but that’s not entirely surprising, considering how he’s barely conscious. He’s rocking back and forth ever so slightly, but his movements aren’t exactly controlled, and Hannibal feels the sharp tug of dread as Will leans further over the edge of the roof.
“Oh, Will…” Hannibal breathes, lost in his observations until a harsh breeze pushes against them, sending him forwards and Will backwards. Backwards, towards the lurking hands of gravity.

His voice is quiet, but thick, and filled with an unexpected dismay; Hannibal has the abrupt urge to dissect his vocal cords and determine which point of stress caused such a thing. Instead, he glances over Will, taking note of his messy, sweat-soaked curls and the overlapping wrinkles in his jumpsuit.

“No,” Will protests immediately. “No, no, Mason, you can’t—”
“Actually, I think you’ll find I can and I will,” Mason interrupts gleefully, and his eyes seem to glow brighter than the metal heading towards Hannibal.
Will struggles again, trying to utilise his knees and elbows, but each movement sends ripples of heat and fog through his bones until he’s gasping for breath, the room swimming around him. Bizarrely, when he does manage to avoid throwing up and his gaze meets Hannibal’s once more, he finds concern directed his way, as if Hannibal isn’t the one about to be branded by a lunatic.
