Summary
Story is cancelled. Sorry. Real life obligations, lack of interest and constant plot bunnies have made it too much to carry on. I feel like I've lost a part of myself.
I'm sorry. I know you're probably confused right now. I know you're cold and frightened, but it's going to be okay.
A strange woman that doesn't belong appears on the tundra of Solitas. Left out in the cold, with her own memories fragmented and confused, she's forced to try to find shelter and safety before she starves, freezes to death or is eaten by a Grimm.
After a desperate fight for survival out on the tundra, she's eventually rescued and given temporary shelter by one Pietro Polendina, but it quickly becomes clear to her there is far more to this world—and even her story—than she knows.
She learns of the coming darkness, with resources given to her by unknown beings. As the Fall races towards her, she's forced to choose between taking a chance to make the story just a little bit better, or just watching what happens from a distance and trying to stay alive.
Sarah Sable is just one woman—outnumbered, outgunned, and outplanned. But can she really just watch while they fall?

Bookmarker's Notes
I've been on a Naruto SI kick for a while now since finding A Lack of Wisdom, but in finding this I think I've accidentally stumbled back into a completely different genre of fic that I used to adore. This scratched the rational fic itch I'd been feeling for a long while now.
The way the story approaches the subject of chakra is incredibly well thought out, and it's obvious how much research on the science side of things went into writing Sasuke's experimentation with jutsu - yet it's still an entertaining and engrossing read, not just a highly irritating wall I have to resort to skimming through. I'd say that it definitely beats out shit like Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality in that regard, which is my go-to point of comparison for this kind of fanfic.
While I've (unsurprisingly) got a more than a few mixed feelings about certain elements that are genuinely my biggest problems with the fic (of note: Sasuke's constant simmering aggro whenever women enter the picture, a few other aspects of the character that just scream edgy condescending hornball 2009 asshole 4channer energy, and how much the Sharingan is abused - not the Mangekyou, just the ordinary Sharingan), Sasuke as a viewpoint character is just fun when he gets going without completely crippling the rest of the cast (...bar Orochimaru). It's also just really interesting seeing a SI that has Part I Naruto knowledge, and that's it. His knowledge is unreliable, and it bites him multiple times.
Heavy on the introspection, for sure, but frankly that's how I like it (at least when done well, which this for the most part is). Shame it was abandoned, but it was worth the read to me - though I think this is a very YMMV case. The other SI fics I've bookmarked lately have been refreshing to me, whereas this one is much more like the type I read as an edgy asshole teenager - and honestly, that's okay, because it does that kind of fanfic really extremely well. I don't think I'll be coming back to it any time soon, but I definitely enjoyed my time and I'm glad it exists!
