Summary
Sometime after Rapunzel left Corona, Varian escapes prison. While grabbing supplies to leave Corona, Varian finds an odd key in his mother's things that opens a door to the Boiling Isles.
Now stranded in this strange new world, Varian becomes the newest resident of the Owl House. Working with Luz, Varian must find a way back to the Human Realm while discovering secrets about himself and his family. Along the way, he makes new friends, falls in love with the mysterious Golden Guard, and begins healing from his past.

His entire life, Varian felt like an outcast in his own home. People were always looking at him as someone weird and unpredictable, even dangerous. What’s so much worse, even his own father saw him as a disappointment.
All of his efforts to make his father proud and make everyone understand resulted in a disaster. His father ended up imprisoned in amber. The only people that Varian ever considered friends abandoned him when he needed them the most. His fight to save his family resulted in being locked in Corona's dungeon for almost a year. He lost everything he had, so when someone promised to help him, claiming to understand, he didn’t hesitate to accept the offer.
However, when his former friends return to Corona from their journey and the mysterious red rocks evade the entire Kingdom, Varian is forced to face his fears and doubts in their entirety. In the process, he discovers that there may be someone else who really understands what it’s like to have nothing left to lose.

We all know what happened before season 2 and after but what happened to Varian in between? While in prison, Varian forms some unexpected relationships and a plan that utlimately led to his escape and (short-lived) conquer of Corona with the Saporians.
This is what leds him to redemption, and becoming Corona's Royal Engineer.Of course this will go into Varian and the Seven Kingdoms afterward! I am trying to be as canon as possible to fit everything into the actual timeline of the Tangled universe.

Summary
