Summary
Lucanis has loved Rook for some time, but he has never quite been able to say the words aloud.
Rook has loved Lucanis since the moment they met. She was never good at expressing her feelings.
So when Rook is spirited into the Fade by Solas, they both face a reality of things unsaid. But their separate journeys share a single goal: to make it back to each other. Whatever it takes.

Summary
Lucanis turned his head from Rook to look at the Venatori, but from behind him the Venatori’s claw-like hands kept Lucanis’ head in place, forcing him to watch. He leaned in, wine breath and metallic scent, making Lucanis’ gut lurch even more, as if the view wasn’t sickening enough. “Wonder how mangled he needs to be until you sing, Crow.”
(After Lucanis attempts (and fails) to kill Zara, he grapples with new-found betrayals, lost purposes, and feelings he can no longer ignore and refuse to acknowledge all the same. Rook, meanwhile, does what he does best: getting himself skewered by various blood magic attacks, doing dark necromantic rituals to prevent evil witches to come back to life, sneaking into a Venatori gala, and eventually finding himself smack dab in the heart and actual mind of certain assassin)

"No, no, it's not that," she interrupted him again, her eyes flickering to the side. "It's just, well... I can't. Literally."
Lucanis furrowed his brow in confusion, unable to decipher Rook. "You... can't do what, exactly?"
"Swim," she eventually pressed out, an awkward laugh escaping her. "I can't swim."

Summary
The prison’s bone-numbing cold penetrates her clothes and skin, burns through her muscles and bones. A sickening chill starts behind her eyes, slithers through her mind, drags its claws down her back, and coils into a fist. Those clenched, phantom fingers around her spine tell her she is not alone, and she is almost afraid to look at the source…
Spite stares at her through stolen, crimson eyes, and croaks in a voice that doesn’t belong to it, and yet sounds nothing like Lucanis, Welcome. To hell. Rook.
***
The demon gets in Rook’s face, hissing and spitting. I want out. Make him let me out. Its stolen face contorts with rage and it whirls to face Lucanis. You never listen. You listen to her. It looks between them, furious. Make him leave this place. Rook. Crow-witch. Make. Him. Leave.
I can’t, she thinks. I can’t make him do anything. Not after all that’s been done to him. I can’t be the one who breaks him.

He's not listening. With each step, he's pulling himself further into his own head, unaware and panicking.
"Lucanis," they murmur, "slow down. Take a breath."
The figure that turns back to them is not Lucanis.

Summary
- Rook. How often Lucanis’ thoughts were of Rook. Spite found it confusing and was angry at first. Rook made Lucanis weak and afraid. But. Rook was strong. Rook was a leader. Lucanis ...trusted Rook. Spite...again his strange human face twisted around. He didn’t understand having feelings like this. What was this? A remnant of Lucanis? His sleeping mind seeping in even though Spite was in control?
He knew the words. The emotions. In a far distant memory, at the edges of what used to be his now torn spirit he knew of deeper things than what he had been twisted to be. Spite let out a snarl. Distractions. Rook was useful. He needed Rook. Spite…..trusted Rook. -
Spite takes control of Lucanis again and decides to try Rook for help. Little Spite POV one-shot.

Summary
The lagoon concept art RUINED MY LIFE (positive) and I had to write this. Set in the immediate aftermath of the Inner Demons quest, Rook and Lucanis chill in and around Treviso for a bit. To facilitate filth.
I've been really busy and this took ages but I am pleased with it.
In this house we adopt the words of canon writers as gospel WHEN THEY MAKE THINGS INTERESTING. So Lucanis is a virgin. For a bit.
Also because of some weird comments elsewhere - I realise that this is not typical of someone’s first time. This is fantasy smut. About a possessed assassin. Liberties have been taken.

Summary
Rook ends up in Lucanis’ head. Lucanis’ mind reacts. Nobody is happy about the results, until they are.
“NO!” Spite roared making Rook flinch. “No! This is wrong! He’s not here!” Spite started to get more and more agitated. “He changed the rules! Not! A game! COWARD!”
“Spite-“
“HE’S NOT! YOU ARE NOT! HERE!”
Spite’s yelling had drowned all the rest, and only blinking again made it real.
It was not a mirror, and Spite proved he was not allucinating. This was himself, in front of…himself.
Chapter Two: the duo is back at the lighthouse and the romance lock in doesn’t go quite as expected. Rook has a talk with the self fashioned god in his head and finds out some things in the process.

Arlow and Lucanis steal a moment for themselves above the purple lanterns of Treviso.
“What do you need, amor?” he murmured. His smooth voice rolled down the length of her ear as he splayed his hand against her newly bared stomach. Goosebumps rose across her flesh. “Tell me you want the moon and I will pull it out of the sky for you.”
“Unless the moon is going to fuck me on this roof, you can leave it where it is.”

Summary
She cried for her mother. She cried for the brother she had been given and believed to have lost. She cried for her childhood, for the wounds she’d gained and the innocence she’d lost. She cried in relief that he had returned and in fear that he would leave again. She felt heavy; she felt older than her years as Viago held her. Without his arms around her, she would have collapsed onto unforgiving stone.
Or, Rook couldn't sleep. It was an old song and dance, these nightmares, but they had a habit of changing as people came and went in her life. As a child, she found comfort in Viago. Today, she wants to find comfort in Lucanis.
Rated for themes. Best enjoyed/understood if you've read "Segreta" in series at least!
