She wasn't always Juno De Riva, she had a different name altogether when she was still with her mother and father. Things change, and sometimes people don't come back when you expect them to. What else can a caged bird do, but sing?
Joining the flock would not be a simple task, but it's what she needed to do to survive. If the Fifth Talon found no use for Juno, she had no doubt he would cast her out onto the street, or worse.
When Matteo De Riva suggests Juno aim higher, to try to marry the heir apparent to the First Talon house, would she be able to use her skills to catch his eye?

Our tailor is here right now fitting the other graduating fledglings. Let's get you measured," she said, taking Taash's hand and pulling them into an adjacent room.

(It must have been some protective mechanism in her brain which kept her from realizing, because when Lucanis translates, scowling, it’s obvious.)

Join me as I go a little feral making stuff up about Antivan Crows and our favorite throuple-before-they-were-three.
Because — explicitly: fuck the canon backstory for Crow!Rook and Lucanis. This Rook and Lucanis have got history. Decades of it. (And y’all: the pining has been mutual. For decades.)
To other Houses, or to those who are not quite in-the-know, the saying goes: “A de Riva delights in deceit,” or similarly, more simply “a de Riva deceives.”
But as a member of House de Riva, Rook knows better. She knows that the saying actually goes:
“A de Riva delights in deceiving a Dellamorte.”
So her path is clear: Rook is going to steal Illario’s precious silk gloves.

She schooled her own expression into something more neutral, pushing off the doorway to walk out into the sun. “You wanted to spar?”
She didn’t especially want to. Ayden was shorter than her and, she was fairly sure, younger. But they had also clearly been training for a long time, and Bea was still putting on weight from being hungry for so long. She knew she could put up a good fight. It’d still be close.
“I’m probably good,” Ayden said, neutrally. “Unless you really want to?”
There was a challenge somewhere In there, but Bea didn’t actually want to start whatever weird dominance struggle Ayden clearly thought was happening, so she shook her head. “I’m good for today.”
There was a moment where they seemed like they were studying her, but then they just nodded. Strode past her to collect their shirt from the ground and followed Viago inside.

In a bid for power, House de Riva creates a competition among its fledglings. In groups of three, they must compete with other groups to successfully complete the most contracts from all over Thedas.
Viago and Arria de Riva are the leftovers. A nine year old and an unwanted royal bastard must find a way to work together, despite the challenges thrown in their way.
