Dark tales of monsters long gone, artifacts steeped in fire and blood, and whispered memories spill into the moment, pulling husband and wife into a conversation that bridges sorrow and comfort. And in the midst of these shadows, a new spark emerges, the legend of a cavern in the Highlands where diamond flowers bloom, glimmering with both danger and wonder.

This fanfic was inspired by a headcanon from studentinpursuitofclouds on tumblr about Magnus getting pushed off the rock by the Farmer.

This is the slow burn romantic tale of Magnus Rasmodius, the Wizard of Stardew Valley and Lilly, the woman that moves into the abandoned farm nearby. The storyline is influenced heavily by SVE and the Romanceable Rasmodius Redux Revamped mod by JelloNip, which is hands down my favorite mod for Stardew. Any changes to storyline, dialogue, or geography are my own.
As of 9.7.2025, I've revamped the story, changed some chapters, and added about twice as much as I had, I'll also try to update more frequently. Thanks! -

My tears spattered against the deed to the farmhouse out in Stardew Valley. My life had gone so wrong in the past few months, so seeing this letter, knowing that even after his death he's still looking out for me hit hard. I saw a phone number at the bottom of the letter and gave it a call.

Selene Harlow has always been a lover of the unknown; magic, supernatural entities, adventures, even monsters! It all brought a sense of hopeless longing. But for all her whimsical ideals, Selene has lived a dark life full of anger and aggression. To leave it all behind for a life of peace and flower farming sounded almost too good to be true for such a temperamental girl. Too bad Joja didn't leave her much of a choice but to try in quaint little Pelican Town.
Magnus Rasmodius has always been a lover of knowledge; he would learn about anything, no matter how obscure or mundane if it meant he was just that much smarter. It brought him a sense of fulfillment. But for all his supposed wisdom, Magnus could never quite understand people. His ex-wife, his desperate attempt at connection, and now his excitable ward sent by fate. To try building relations with this girl under the pretenses of being her mentor/advisor sounded like a pitiful waste of time for this pitiful recluse of a man. Too bad the stubborn girl wouldn't rest until he was her friend.
Too bad indeed.

Working for Joja was never what she wanted to do with her life, but there's a complete lack of other jobs for someone with an education degree and Joja will hire anyone with a pulse as anyone with a remotely useful skill is in the army or working in Ferngill military factories, and she can't go back to being a paramedic either after that incident during college. So she wastes away at a grimy desk in one of Joja's many warehouses, until she finds a long-forgotten letter at the bottom of a drawer...
When she gets to the valley, she'll befriend the villagers, build up her farm to prosperity, and maybe even get to know that stranger in the tower. However, the wizard isn't the only one keeping an eye on her, and there's a lot more to this quiet valley than meets the eye.
This story will be divided into four arcs. Arcs 1 and 2 are complete and Arc 3 is in progress.
