Some residents were resigned to let the void spirits claim the caves for themselves, encouraged by a short-sighted mayor and an avalanche of bad publicity. Others would not let go of their home so easily, grabbing for whatever their hands could carry. From that determination, a team came together: the aimless community builder, the former miner with a family to feed, the florist with deep-rooted morals, the farmer who became one with the soil, the archeologist who kept everything buried, and the drifter who fell desperately in love with him.
