What if The West Wing and Glee were set during the same time period? What if our favorite show choir from William McKinley high school went to perform for our favorite West Wing staff? Tragedy hits a family while the kids are about 450 miles from home. How will everyone cope? By singing a tune of course! Rated Mature due to some of the implied references.

Summary
“J, what are you doing up already?” Josh’s head snapped up from his phone, eyes a little wide before they softened, hazel turning gold and amber in the sunlight. He dropped his phone onto the table beside him and stood up, making his way over to their bed, socked feet making little sound on the carpet. His hair was a bit ruffled, uneven, as if he’d been running his hands through it, and Sam reached for him, tugging at his shirt until he leaned down to press a gentle kiss to his lips. He tasted faintly of coffee, the slight bitterness oddly comforting, and Sam pulled him a little closer.
“Wanted to see the sunrise here one last time, and then got distracted by the news after. Couldn’t go back to sleep afterwards.” Josh glanced over at his phone like he wanted to go back over to it, wanted to pull up whatever article he’d been reading before Sam woke up, but a tap on his side seemed to pull him back to him.

Summary
“Shut up, Cregg.”
CJ hummed in response, taking another long sip of her champagne, before finally looking away from Sam to look at him again. The look on her face was some odd combination of sad and annoyed and amused, like she couldn’t decide if she wanted to yell at him, hug him, or shove him, and he rolled his eyes. He hadn’t meant to go back to staring at Sam, hadn’t expected his eyes to drift back to him where he had now moved on to speaking with someone else that Josh didn’t recognize, yet he couldn’t look away. The lights of the garden didn’t make anyone else look quite as flattering as Sam, didn’t make anyone else look like they were encased in candlelight and painted in oils. Yet there Sam stood in all his magnificent, beautiful glory under the lamp light, and even though Josh knew he couldn’t tell him, couldn’t go up to him and wrap him up in his arms, he ached to be able to do so. Because Sam was just so–
“And I’ve lost you to the exact thing I’m talking to you about. I swear, if you two don’t get your act together, Donna and I are going to have to lock you up in a closet together until you do.”

Summary
“But I want to fix this. I want– Sammy, I want to be allowed to marry you. I– This isn’t fair.”
“No,” Sam sighed and Josh could almost picture the look on his face, the sad shimmer of his eyes, the slant of his lips, the furrow of his eyebrows. He ached to reach across the space between them and smooth out the wrinkle on his forehead, run his fingers through his hair, hold him close. Instead he just rolled on his side and reached for Sam’s side of the bed, empty bar for his pillow. “No, it’s not fair. I– It’s not fair. But we’ll get there. One day, I promise you, Joshua Lyman, one day, I will be be able to marry you, and it will be beautiful, and I will never let you go.”
“You can’t promise me that, Sammy.”

Summary
There were things that Samantha couldn’t quite figure out. Too many things, really, for her liking. The world didn’t make an ounce of sense most of the time, nor did anyone in it. Everywhere she went, everyone she met, always had all these assumptions, these expectations about what she should be like; she should wear more dresses, she wasn’t wearing enough pink, her hair wasn’t long enough, she shouldn’t play with the neighbor kids she played with every day. The list of what everyone wanted, what everyone thought, seemed to grow every year, seemed to just get longer and longer with every new person she met, every new place she went. Everyone at church expected her to be the picture-perfect little angel with ribbons in her hair and ruffles on her dresses. Everyone at home expected her to be quiet and listen, do exactly as she was told. Everyone at school expected her to be smart, to follow the rules, to make friends, but only the right friends.

Summary
Leo tried not to sigh. He knew Jed only meant well, and that the man had never really understood why they’d kept things as secretive as they had to begin with.
“Yeah, sure, I guess we can say that,” he said, and Jed gave him a scrutinizing look.
“You’re not ashamed of it, are you?”
Leo and Marbury are outed. It results in some introspection.

Josh claps Sam's shoulder again, grunting softly. “That’s my man right here. My man.”

Summary
“Sam?”
Sam exhaled, long and as slow as he physically could, before turning to face Josh again. He stood just a few feet into their room, curls lit softly by the lamp between their beds, confusion visible on his face as he stared at him, eyes gentle but questioning, patient in a way he so rarely was with anyone. Normally on nights like this, they went with CJ and Toby to a bar around the corner and played pool for a few hours, drinking just enough to feel it then but not the next morning. This wasn’t something they’d ever done, and Sam– Sam could feel anxiety clawing at his throat, because what if this was the wrong move? The wrong decision? What if Josh didn't feel the same and he ruined everything they'd built, everything that had grown between them again in the last few months?
“I love you.”

Summary
“You always stay in this hotel, in this room, when you’re here, if it’s free. Which it usually is.” Josh glanced down at his shoes, ears flushed a dull pink, and Sam’s heart stuttered in his chest like he was some high schooler with a crush. Oh. God, maybe he really had been an idiot. 23 years of knowing Josh, of not understanding why exactly he would drop anything for Josh, why he would do anything he asked, why Josh was the only person he really understood completely, really trusted, even when he was being a little bit of an idiot. 23 years it had stared him right in the face and somehow, he’d just never really realized. Or maybe he had and just didn’t want to think about it. The realization should have sent him hurtling into a panic, perhaps, spiraling into oblivion, but instead, it just made everything click, slot into place. Because of course, he loved Josh.
“What were you going to do if it wasn’t me?”
“Probably just… run away. I don’t know, I didn’t really think that far ahead.”

Summary
Sam says, “Alright. Here it is. I want your fingers fisted in the sheets, in my hair. I want you too overwhelmed to even make noise. I want you to feel pleasure so strong it's impossible to remember what it's like not to feel pleasure. You’re going to focus on me and let everything else float away, because it’s not important. Not right now. We’re not leaving this bed until we’ve made you forget your own name, let alone how many degrees you have or what your job is or what the state of the world is right now. Got that?”
Josh wets his lips, his eyes darkening. “Hot damn, Seaborn. Let’s hope you can walk the walk.”

Summary
Donna glanced around the room, her hands gripping his forearms tight, and uttered words that would forever haunt him, “No, your– your father died, Josh.”
He froze, staring at her, waiting for her to say she was joking, that she was playing some sort of stupid, cruel prank just to see the look on his face at having his world crushed, even though he knew she would never do that. She didn’t say anything else though, just looked up at him with those sad, pained eyes and he stumbled back a step, all joy at their win lost to the sudden chasm opening within him, right where Joanie was all scabbed over and just barely closed. The room seemed to spin around him, sway under his feet like the deck of a ship, and he could just barely process the feeling hands wrapping around his waist and arm, familiar and almost comforting enough. Nothing quite made sense, nothing added up. The words spinning around endlessly in his head didn’t make sense, couldn’t be true. It was his dad, how could he–
