Natasha's life is turned upside when Steve and Clint rescue fourteen year old Wanda Maximoff from the Raft Prison, where she had been held captive for months, subject to trauma and abuse. Living at the Compound is Wanda's chance of healing and starting over, and Natasha wouldn't deprive the girl of that, even if she wanted absolutely nothing to do with a powerful teenager who forced her to relive her worst memories. It would have been so easy to avoid Wanda if she just didn't feel such a strong pull to comfort her.
The story of Wanda joining the Avengers family, and absolutely stealing Natasha's heart along the way.
