Keith gripped the controls tightly to stay on course. Shiro calculated a trajectory and shared it on a holoscreen. Without visibility or magnetic compass, Keith was thankful to have a path to follow. -

A Reimagined VLD S8, A Love Letter to the Voltron/Sheith/Allurance Fandom.
Planet Earth has finally been liberated from the control of the Galra, but the looming threats of Haggar and her Dark Druids still remain. That is not all, however, for there's been reports from the Blades of Marmora that there are Anti-Galran Organizations cropping up all around the Universe. The stars still need Team Voltron and the Coalition, just as much as it seems Team Voltron and The Coalition need the stars. Sailing into the stars again, Team Voltron and the Coalition head off towards an uncertain future. As they continue their quest for Universal Peace and learn what it means to be a true team and family, they realize that sometimes you have to look back, in order to truly move forward.
Allura and Coran finally decide that in order to win this war, they're going to have to find the White Lion. So, they decide to come clean and tell the Paladins the full and true story of Voltron. Thus begins their search for the White Lion to reunite it with its pride, so Voltron can finally be whole once again and live up to the name Of Legendary Defender.

They’re super nice!”
Lance pushes the unease at his daughter’s statement down and gives her a smile, “Oh really?” He moves to kneel next to the girl, “Tell me about them.”
Meisa finally puts down the dolls in her hands and waves towards the empty space once again, “Can’t you see them? They’re smiling at you.”

Keith never talked about their family. Though Pidge seemed to have an idea on why, based on what Matt has said, and Hunk and Lance can guess; from James Griffin’s comments in their first year, to the way that they’re so defensive and struggle to call them all family.

But perhaps only Shiro realized how truly lonely they were on Earth until the team actually came back. Unlike Pidge and Lance who had family waiting for them with open arms, even unlike Hunk whose family had been taken, Keith and Shiro had no one waiting for them. And even then, Shiro had the Garrison staff waiting for him. Even the princess had family after all these years.
