Summary
After Bahamut falls to Odin, Dion is taken captive—and made to suffer for it. Broken in body and spirit, he survives only by clinging to the unexpected kindness of Kihel, a twelve-year-old refugee turned apothecary-in-training who offers him unwavering compassion and quiet companionship, asking nothing in return. Their bond becomes his light in the darkness.
A story of resilience in the face of suffering, found family, and recovery.
Primary focus: Dion & Kihel (father-daughter). The only true romantic ship is Terence/Dion! But features unromantic instances of Dion with others.
Note: This AU departs from canon—roll with it. It takes place in the canon world but political details, character relations, and other events diverge. No Ultima.
CONTENT WARNING!!: Please mind the tags!! Chapters will have individual content warnings. Sexual assault against Dion occurs more than once in the story but will not be depicted erotically or in great detail. The story deals heavily with the aftermath/recovery.

Summary
His father once told him: In situations like this, it was best to wait. Let a fire simmer to a burning inferno, Elwin told when he first took up the sword, and never doubt that fire spreads. His father wanted to keep them safe, promising to come for them if they were ever caught. Clive never told his father, but he knew the truth: an abductor was more likely to keep Joshua alive than him.
As his mother often reminded him, what worth did he have?

Summary
How many times can you shatter before the pieces no longer fit back together?
Set between the game and Rewind, this is the very angsty tale of Clive and Cid falling in love. The heart remembers, even if the mind doesn't.
AKA The time loop no one remembers. Except the one who does. and it's not Clive.

Summary
The prince’s affection for the knight was clear as day and Joshua admonished himself for feeling hurt by it. To start with, it was ridiculous to hope that he has a chance with him after all those years without communication. It was a fleeting fantasy, the leftover affection for the boy he knew twelve years ago fueled by the information, songs, and adoration that he heard from other people. He would get over it, he comforted himself.
As the Phoenix, Joshua was used to fire coursing through his veins. He was meant to burn as the Warden of Fire, as the ruler of life and death. But to burn as a weapon or as a healer is one thing, to burn with desire is another.
And he must desist.

Summary
For the Twin Server's Naughty SS exchange!
Intoxicating it was seeing the dark locks cascade over rosy cheeks and blue eyes, stroking memory’s fervor until snapped in half with a sobering call of his name. Clive, not Elwin. All the same, his affection bloomed like a weed he could not rid and could not act upon besides bestowing his teachings.
Yet, in his love, all he achieved was delivering Clive unto a fiend, practically packaged and gifted to the talon.

Summary
According to legend, one their ancestors tried to keep secret and failed, within the Phoenix’s line existed another Eikon. This legend claimed that this Eikon harnessed unfathomable power at the cost of nothing.
It struck Father so hard, so deeply. He knew what had to be done.

Summary
Cid approaches slowly, until he hears Clive groan in pain, an agony under the shaking sound that has Cid throwing caution to the wind and rushing to his side.
“Clive? Clive!” He skids to his knees in the dirt, amazed at the sheer amount of heat coming off Clive’s body even from a couple feet away. This is no fever, that much is clear.
“Not you,” Clive groans, even if he doesn’t move, arms tucked against his stomach, chin tucked to his chest, jaw clenched and absolutely soaked in sweat. “Fuck, not you.”
“What in Greagor’s name- Clive, you’re burning up.” He reaches in the pack for one of Tarja’s vials, but Clive’s hand shoots out with a speed too fast to track, snatching Cid by the wrist in a way that’s almost painful, steel strength in his fingers.
“You need to leave.” Clive’s voice isn’t his, a shiver running down Cid’s spine at the growl that vibrates through the air. “Now.”
