Summary
Ghost Valley was peaceful, Loki thought as he absentmindedly watched the blooming forest in the distance, and one of the most beautiful places he had seen in his life. His book laid forgotten in his lap as he was mesmerized by the light of down sparkling over the trees.
He had been desperate in the wake of the Battle of New York, had known that if Thor took him to Asgard he would not be allowed to defend himself. If he were allowed to speak at all, that was. He shuddered to think of what the Shield would have done had they gotten their hands on him and he would rather die than end up in Thanos' clutches again. His chances of a fair trial and potential freedom had been very low and he had known that were he to run one of his enemies would have eventually caught up to him. There had been only one place he could think of that would give him a chance, a place known to take in runaways and outlaws. Not criminals, at least not in his opinion, and that made all the difference. A place the Shield and Thanos would suspect not to look for him and Odin would dare not anger, not even to get to him.

“Loki!” a voice snaps and Thor jumps in surprise. The young warrior had not evaded his notice, but the runt was so weak he hardly made a blip. What caught the former Crown Prince off guard was that someone with so little authority would say, no- spit, the prince’s name without his title.
Thor’s hands clench into fists. How dare-They are in an old, abandoned, empty training ground. Thor is high in a tree, a small bird perched on his knee, but it flies away with a chirp that chants danger, danger, danger when he sees Loki hunch his shoulders as he recognizes the voice.
The daggers in his hands vanish as he straightens his shoulders and raises his chin, smirking at the boy across the dusty clearing. Thor knows this expression, but he has never before noticed how it wobbles; as if one phrase could dismantle it like a ball of unruly yarn and mince Loki’s soul to shreds alongside it.Series

They were wrong about the New York invasion. Loki was innocent. Mostly at least.
After new revelations and an imminent threat on the horizon, turns out that Loki is their best bet against whatever was coming. Problem was that no one knows where Loki’s disappeared to and to top that off, Tony keeps seeing him in his dreams. After too many coincidences and secrets revealed, he’s pretty sure he’s probably got in way over his head.
