“I,” Mo Ran breathes out. He’s close enough his hot breath causes a tendril of hair to dance over Chu Wanning’s face. An admission of love sits on the tip of his tongue, wanting to tumble out of his mouth so it’s empty enough to kiss the man he loves with his whole heart and more. Chu Wanning opens his mouth to speak too but with Mo Ran’s thumb laid over his lips he silences himself, letting the rough finger pull his lower lip downwards and rest just inside his mouth. Mo Ran manages to whisper, “I thought about you, what you mean to me, everyday of your seclusion.”
