The Functionists propose an even greater threat, condemning their ally Sentinel whose elevated social status hangs in the balance with those he loves impeding his success, yet he must succeed, he cannot afford failure, for he would lose everything he has worked for. Inexperienced Autobots unite under the shy and gentle Orion Pax, expecting to be heroes, yet their intervention prolongs the conflict and costs lives, ruining others. After millions of years of war, Megatron’s insane plot is discovered and drives a reconfigured Optimus Prime in a desperate bid to save his people, yet the Thirteenth Prime reincarnate condemns Cybertron to a slow demise. Politics and faith are put to the test as soldiers and civilians love and lose and loathe each other, all-knowing old mechs in positions of power deciding the war-torn future of their surviving heirs in prophecy, the Prime a mere puppet of fate.

When Bumblebee had first suggested this whole endeavour, Starscream could admit to being skeptical. Honestly, it was all his own fault for complaining so much about how easy it was to misplace datapads and mice and stylus’ - after two months of it, Bumblebee had finally gotten fed up enough to snarkily ask if it wouldn’t just be easier to use them instead of wasting shanix on new things that would just go missing within the week.
Now, with Bumblebee splayed on his desk, utterly pliant for the task, he could certainly come around to the appeal.

Bumblebee could feel him turning to jelly in his servos. Something Starscream only did when specific factors were in play, with the one constant being Bumblebee. “You work too much,” he said, pulling back so he could see his face.
Starscream frowned deeply, worn rivulets beginning to show in his faceplate from age. Bumblebee wanted to kiss them. “I have a lot of stuff to do, Bee. Cybertron hasn’t had a functioning, fully formed government in four million stellar cycles. And now I have to pick up the pieces.”
