Stiles looks out toward the water. The sun's rays catch him at an angle that makes his eyes look golden, and Derek can see the individual grains of sand that dust his face."You know the worst thing about it all?" Stiles asks softly. "It's that I'm going to be known forever as the goofy sidekick on a kid's show. Like, that's my legacy."
Derek takes a deep breath. He can relate. He was once considered a prodigy in the surfing world: touted as the next Kelly Slater after he'd won several local competitions right out of high school and then the Billabong Pipeline Masters at twenty, followed by a second-place finish at qualifiers for the US Open of Surfing. The recognition was heady; the groupies and sponsors, more so. And then there was Kate, who had entered Derek's life as hot and quick as wildfire before razing his world to the ground.

"I saved here and there. It's not a lot, but it should last you a month. Maybe more, if you barter the things you can't use."
Derek's brain tried to catch up, but he became stuck on a single word. "It should last me—You're not coming, too?"
"I can't." Stiles' voice broke, and he turned away, pressing the heel of his hands against his eyes. "Change in plans, okay?" he said, looking up once more. "I thought I'd have a little more time. I don't have enough saved for both of us."
Derek dropped the bag onto the ground and took Stiles in his arms. "I'm not leaving you here. If it's a choice between you and me, you should go."
"You must. Please, Derek," Stiles begged. "My father is here. And I'm… I'm too valuable to Deucalion. He won't kill me. But he will kill you."

Summary
The Pack runs Moon Tower Fermentarium, a popular brewery in Beacon Hills, and they are a refuge for supernaturals that need it. Stiles is happy to be Scott's Emissary and loves being the head brewer. His life is great. If only he could get over his feelings for Derek.
Derek finally feels like the Pack is settled and he is proud of what they've built. He doesn't need anything else. He has Stiles in his life as his friend and that's more than he deserves. If he wishes for more in the dark of night, that is between him and the moon.
OR The one where the Pack owns a brewery and Stiles is on fire with the puns. Also, there is angst.

With Scott no longer having the Alpha Spark. The pack are left alone as a new Big Bad comes into town, with their eyes on Stiles. Stiles refuses to call in Derek, who has regained the Hale Alpha Spark to come in and help while the Werewolf and his sister sort things out in New York and get to know each other again after so long apart.

Derek crossed his arms over his chest, arching an eyebrow. “Who says I need a tracking device to find you? Maybe you’re just overly predictable. We are in your dad’s workplace, after all.”
“Hey, I haven’t come by here in like, two weeks at least. So you’re following me.” Stiles pointed his finger at him again, but couldn’t poke him in the chest since he’d crossed his arms. “You are a stalking stalker who stalks!”
“I thought I was a lying liar who lies.”
