"You have the best laugh in the world."
And Sasuke would have stumbled if he was walking, then, because Naruto's voice was soft and breathless and—
And Sasuke was kissing him, again.” (qt. ch. 19)
How to write a story about two boys who have gone through so much hurt and find comfort only in each other? This is it. The way Kinomi is able to develop such a pure and tender relationship between Naruto and Sasuke through a time when Naru is hurting so much is simply beautiful. The relationship is organic, soft, and oh so lovely. I loved both of my bbs in here but Sasuke especially stole my heart. There are moments when I just had to clutch my chest because it was so *soft,* the way that Sasuke treats Naruto. And yet he also doesn't break character, which I think is so hard to do and Kinomi does it beautifully.
This fanfic made me laugh so much, because it is INCREDIBLY funny, but also it made me cry because ugh there are so many things at play here. The dialogue was so well done and I think the author does an amazing job at staying true to Naru and Sasu's character without sacrificing anything.
Highly HIGHLY recommend if you are looking for a slow burn story about two boys falling in love through a period of grief. Their love is seen in the little things, and I think that's what is beautiful. <3
