“Zip it Harrington, you’re spending some quality time with us,” Eddie cut him off. “And no half assed participation. We’re teaching you the lore, making the character sheet, the whole shebang.”
“And what do I get out of this?” Steve asked, unable to believe he was actually considering it.
“Me,” Eddie turned the single syllable into a purr.
"Yuh-you?" Steve’s stomach flip flopped so hard it almost knocked him onto his ass.
“Against my better judgement and in an affront to the code of the nerds, geeks, losers, and freaks, I promise to go to your sports games. If you’re an extra good boy, I may even break my own personal style rules and wear your team color.”
“You’d watch sports? voluntarily? And you’d behave yourself?” Steve rested his weight on one hip and cocked his head to the side, trying not to flush at the image of Eddie smiling down at him from the stands.
“Cross my little ol’ heart,” Eddie promised, clutching his chest theatrically.
“Fine,” Steve shrugged, “may the best man win.”
