Summary
Jiang Wanyin dreams of war.
He dreams of Lotus Pier burning, of his people slaughtered, of his mother’s body lying cold and his father’s last, blood-choked breath. He dreams of a sect in ruin, of betrayal, of standing on the precipice of destruction and failing to stop it.
And then he wakes up.
A child again, with hands too small, a voice too raw, and a history that hasn't happened yet.
To the world, Jiang Cheng is a young sect heir blessed (or cursed) with prophetic visions. To himself, he is a survivor reliving a nightmare.
He has no grand plan. No burning desire to fix the world. He is not a hero.
All he wants is for his people to live.
And if, in the process, he accidentally makes himself the most sought-after bachelor in the cultivation world?
Well. That’s just another problem to survive.

This fic is entirely about Yu Ziyuan's abusive parenting of Wei Wuxian, and also of Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli, and the damage done to all of their family ties by her choice to inflict the pain of her unhappy feelings on a child in her care.
This is not Yu Ziyuan friendly, although I hope there is nuance and ambiguity to her actions and motivations. It is not Jiang Fengmian friendly either. Nobody is having a good time in this fic.
