Summary
Healer Potter can heal injuries that no one else can and gets a new patient in his specialized ward at St. Mungo's. It's clear from the start that this patient is broken, with injuries and abuse dating years. But Harry is surprised to discover that the patient is Draco Malfoy. For the next three months, Harry has to heal his injuries from an apparent suicide attempt, but soon he realizes that it's deeper than that.
Draco is fresh out of Azkaban and Harry knows that the guards must have viciously tortured him, but Draco isn't talking about it. He's set up to stay in the Mental Health ward permanently if Harry doesn't heal him physically and mentally. At the same time, Harry isn't the righteous force of anger and courage that he once was. He quit the Aurors and suffers from extreme social anxiety, panic attacks and PTSD attacks, though it's not from war. Harry has to deal with his problems, too, but maybe not alone anymore as Draco is there to recover with him.
Trigger warning - discussions about sexual assaults, associated terminology and abuse. Panic attacks and some sleeping, eating and drinking disorders.
This is a story of recovery from severe emotional distress on both their parts.

Never heard of that before!” he is simply exaggerating now, given by his wide grin and dramatic hand gestures and the laughter that rings in the garage.
It all starts like a normal day.
The sun is high in the sky and sweat clings to his armpits. Kenta smells of the stir fried noodles he has had with Pete for lunch, the taste of sweet chili sauce still clinging to his taste buds. Food has been tasty, and now his stomach is full as he walks to the door of his home.

Even when sunlight fills the space and the apparent silence makes everything seem calm, there are unknown shadows waiting to peer out and challenge our path. Today’s victories may tomorrow serve only as reminders of what remains undefeated, of the fears hidden in darkness, and of the secrets that no one dares to approach. Those who return must understand that their smile is a temporary shield against this darkness, and their courage must extend beyond the celebration of victory; for darkness is never fully defeated, and there is always something that cannot be reached, even in the light.
