A week later he receives an Owl confirming that Edward Elric-Flamel will become the Alchemy Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1995 after he completes his certificates. Unknowing of Edward's own ulterior motives.

The cursed ring continued to eat away at him, a constant reminder of his own mortality. He stubbornly clung to life, knowing there was still much left for him to do. But in moments like these, Albus Dumbledore couldn't ignore the fact that he was merely a mortal human, despite how others viewed him.
But regret alone would not change the course of the future. Steeling himself, he reached forward, his remaining hand trembling as it hovered over the alchemical circle. Then, with a final surge of resolve, he clasped it down and let his magic flow.
