Recently thawed from six months in cryo and reunited with Vergil, Dante's more than ready to get out of DARKCOM's basement and start living his life again! First though, he has an obligation to fulfil.
Luring Vergil to Capulet City with the promise of pizza (and its proximity to Red Grave and Vergil's mysterious human associate), Dante finds that returning to his old stomping grounds brings with it a host of issues. Old scars, fresh traumas, strange new powers, and potential allies are just the start. And to put the icing on the stress-cake, Vergil has his own scars and agendas, ones that Dante knows he's only starting to learn about.
The pressures are piling up faster than he can deal with, despite Dante's world-class deflection ability. How much can a half-devil bend before he breaks? Especially when enemies old and new crawl back into their lives.

V and Vergil have been together for a while now, and for a few months, Dante has occasionally joined in with them in bed. It helps him with the creeping feeling of loneliness, and it seems to please both of his new partners as well. He needs them to take care of him, and they need him, too.

Vergil's reflection bore the marks of his sleepless nights - skin even paler than usual against the light blue of his coat, shadows deepening beneath eyes that had taken on a fevered gleam. His composure remained in every perfectly-arranged strand of silver-white hair, in each measured step. There was something brittle in it now, like ice just before it splinters. Power was everything, yet here was weakness made visible in the mirror, mocking him. The ancient writings became an anchor, something tangible to focus on besides the echoes of thunder and rain, of Dante's voice calling out to him before he'd walked away.
In which Vergil's encounter with Dante after the pre-DMC3 manga led to the elder twin's increased nightmares and bouts of insomnia. Taking a seeming demonic sleeping remedy from Arkham, the elder twin finds himself caught between strange visions and faces of himself yet to pass. Will Vergil be willing to listen to himself, or will he be forever destined to walk his current path?

He sighs — the release of the breath from the vice of his lungs a painfully subdued thing, so as not to disturb the utter quietude they’ve found themselves wrapped in — as he shifts to lean up on his elbows for only the moment it takes to push himself upright entirely; leaning back on bare palms, feeling the way that same grass spreads and folds beneath his weight. The air is thick here, wherever here may be, and embers float through it like dust motes in a sunbeam; or lanterns, perhaps, at a festival made to resemble ever-burning molecules. Thunder rolls low overhead, but no rain ever comes (though, if it did, he has the vague notion it would feel more like the sizzle of acid on his skin). It’s peaceful, in its own way.

Vergil's PTSD healing journey. The story of Vergil's eventual healing by Dante and Nero after a series of tortures at the hands of the Mundus. Dante and Nero are healed in the process as well.
The time span is from V arriving at Dante’s office to the story of the twins returning from Hell after DMC 5 and in the end, they defeat Mundus and fate.
V is in a state of being Vergil and not being Vergil.
There are original villains as Toolman, derived from the Wikipedia entry for Qliphoth.
There are depictions of Vergil being raped by demons, gore depictions, human experimentation depictions, and mental torture depictions throughout the text.

V几乎可以从但丁眼睛里看到他的倒影，多么弱小而又无力，特别是站在他的弟弟面前。
他现在绝对不能告诉但丁真相，但丁要杀现在的他连两只手都不用全用上。V必须编造出一个合理的说辞。V拿着手杖的中段，用手柄顶住但丁的胸膛，施力让但丁慢慢向后退。
V戏虐地挑起了单边嘴角，“我和维吉尔曾经关系很近，虽然他一直都想抛弃我，恨我，可是却做不到，他无法离开我。但直到现在，他终于做到了。”V的尾音戏剧性的降低，仿佛他在形容一场戏剧而不是发生在他身上的事。
参杂着真实的谎言是最好的谎言，他刚才说的可没有一句假话。
“你是他的——情人什么的吗？”但丁皱着眉怀疑地问。V用自嘲地语气抑扬顿挫地说：“可以这么说。”他实在不知道但丁的脑回路是怎么转的，为什么会得出这个结论，不过这样总比好过认出自己就是‘维吉尔’好点。

Also yeah this kinda drops you in at what feels like an odd point, but I'll sprinkle in some stuff to fill in the time gap as I go along.
