The lord left his business in the hands of a talented coworker in order to be there for his wife as she grew weary, and the lady planned out the life she would have and things she would do when her baby arrived. A healthy baby boy.
The couple relationship fractured after the boy was born, both believing he was a curse sent by the devil himself.
As the years passed, the lord and lady repaired their relationship. But only by scapegoating their barely two year old son as the villain. Blaming the “Curse” for anything that went wrong in the house, no matter how small or irrelevant.

The last few days have been wonderful. Morality comes in to play string games with Virgil, even bringing new strings made out of materials that feel strange in his hands and look downright magical. Knowledge tries and fails to teach Virgil the fae language and they get into deep discussions learning so much from each other about their worlds that they just couldn't learn from books. Cephy is constantly teasing and poking at Virgil, but he's fun and brings up the weirdest topics that they spend hours chatting about.
And of course, sex with Deceit has been mind-blowing.
For a while, it's enough to allow Virgil to very intentionally put out of mind the fact that he's a traitor who left behind his family, his home, his entire species to save their enemy. But he can't ignore it forever, can he?

Confusion upon waking is a mortal trait that Janus can happily say he's never had to deal with. He wakes from his nap remembering exactly where he is and how he got here. That does not mean that he wants to get up.
He'd just had amazing shower sex with his new claimed after returning home from being tortured for months and now it is time to rest. The fact that he isn't currently asleep is almost as much of a tragedy as the fact that Anxiety is no longer in his arms. Unacceptable.

There's a moment of panic when Virgil wakes to arms around him, but then he registers that there's six arms and half of them are scaled and the events of yesterday come rushing back to him. He should probably feel bad that he's a traitor now, and part of him does, but a much larger part of him is relieved and he thinks that's very telling.
A voice that is definitely not Deceit's says something in faerie language and Virgil yelps, jumping a bit. Deceit grumbles in his sleep and tightens his grip.

Janus is a fae prince who's been capture by monster hunters. When the prison he's being kept in is under attack from a greater enemy all the guards flee leaving the prisoners behind to face their doom. All except the witch guard Anxiety who frees everyone.
But unlike everyone else Janus and Anxiety can't escape in time and are trapped in their hiding place surrounded by hostile enemies with nothing left to do but wait and hope. And maybe fuck to pass the time and enjoy what could very well be their last moments.
