Billy went to Agatha's house, weeks after the Witches' Road incident. Instead of an abandoned house, he found a girl in the backyard, burning a shrub he had never seen before. He's not sure how to deal with this, but everything in him is screaming that he's connected to her.
Her shoulders shook a little then, and slight tears fell from her eyes. The dog squirmed in Billy’s hold and moved over to lap at her face. The girl giggled, pushing him away. “Down, Sparky. I am supposed to find that disgusting,” the dog sat down obediently, and she ran a hand through its fur, “And you are supposed to not understand that, and continue anyway. But it matters not.”
Billy looked at her, not sure what more to say. A silence hung over them.
“I had a dog named Sparky,” he finally shared. It was a vague hint of a memory he had, if he really strained for it. “He was killed. By a man pretending to be my uncle.”
“I’m sorry to hear that. My twin was killed by my uncle pretending to be a human.”
