She takes a moment to breathe, staring at the floor not wanting to freak herself out by watching the competition. focusing on the rigging and how it's tied it very suddenly goes slack. gasps from the crowd and pained cries from the stage.looking to the stage, yasha is on her back on the floor. the large metal hoop swinging wildly from its rigging above her. and for a few seconds the music continues to play, everyone pensive as they wait for her to quickly get back up and continue like a competitor usually would.

Beau's been in this city for two years, and she's made a life for herself with the help of the friends she was lucky to fall in with early on. A steady job at the library, a best friend for a roommate, and a sense of belonging that evaded her prior to breaking free from her old life. She winds up with a huge dog and soon after makes friends with Yasha, a quiet but striking woman who starts turning up in her life. Obviously, those two things are absolutely coincidental and unrelated.
Things seem to be going really well between them, but in spite of Beau's best efforts she never seems to be able to hang out with Yasha for more than a couple of hours before Yasha has to go. She's a bad liar, but Beau doesn't want to press her for details. Something related to Yasha's past, she can respect that.
And then Yasha's past becomes present, and Beau's got to make sense of Yasha's history if either of them is going to have a future.

Day 5 of Beauyasha Week: Defend
Word Count: 3,412
Taking the Cerberus Assembly down should be a walk in the park, right? Convincing the King that he should follow through with his suspicions and go about reforming the organization should be easy, right?
Beau takes a look around. Martinet Ludinus Da'leth and Master Trent Ikithon are present too. The fact that they’ve been silent during the whole time Caleb was speaking is unnerving, as is the fact that they aren’t even trying to defend their own organization. Beau’s gut is going crazy and she doesn’t like it when her intuition is screaming that something’s off.
She steps forward, intent on delivering as truthfully as possible all the elements she’s gathered through time. But as she is about to speak, she hears a groan coming from her left, a little bit behind her.
She was right to trust her gut, just as Yudala said.
