Summary
To say that Will Graham is still an unmated, childless omega at the age of thirty-eight is his own choice is true. It is not to say that it is his preference. Will wants a mate and a family just as much – perhaps even more – than the next omega. He’s simply never met that one person who fit the bill before. And then he walks into Jack Crawford’s office and meets Hannibal Lecter and well that, as they say in the business, is that.
Now all he needs to do is convince Hannibal of that. But well, this is Hannibal Lecter he is dealing with. It must be done a certain…flair. But that isn’t a problem for Will. Not at all.

Summary
Prisons have been abolished in America being replaced by forcing criminals into penal labor. They get assigned a handler who can control their every move with the help of futuristic cuffs that punish them with electroshocks if they even think about disobeying an order. It is claimed to be a more humane punishment even with rampant abuse of the prisoners being far too common.
Hannibal Lecter has been in the system for over five years after getting caught as the Chesapeake Ripper and either scared off or downright murdered any handler who tried to control him. The department of justice does not want to admit their system doesn’t work so they send him off to the best handler in the country: Will Graham had never gotten a charge he couldn’t mould into his own design and now he was assigned to break Hannibal Lecter.

Will let Hannibal hold him, let him silently apologize once again for condemning Will to that horrid place. It had been a year and a half since he last saw the drab grey of its bricks and bars, but that hadn't been nearly enough to put it behind him. He'd forgiven Hannibal, but he hadn't forgotten. Every once in a while, usually on the nights Hannibal stayed over, Will dreamed of the prison. He envisioned steel cages and cold, dripping basements. Will often dreamt that the madness that pervaded every inch of the place seeped into him and filled him till he capsized from it.
He had nightmares he never left, and his waking life was the dream.

Will is, quite frankly, stumped on what to make of this situation. On one hand, Dr. Lecter has, in one afternoon, almost uncovered the truth before anyone in the FBI, even vaguely suspicious of Will's sudden obliviousness to what he would normally notice in a few seconds. On the other hand however, this man sitting across from him is possibly the only person to come close to understanding his design.

Summary
From what Alana Bloom and Jack Crawford had told him, and after their brief, sarcastic and borderline hostile interaction in Jack’s office, Hannibal was expecting Will Graham to be an isolated individual. He would undoubtedly avoid most social situations wherever possible, and was highly unlikely to pursue close personal relationships: especially those of a sexual nature.
