"Matteo does not play Roland Garros, but he supports Jannik through it. When he sees him losing, he feels the loss with him. He feels it in his bones. When he reads the things his boyfriend says about his opponent to the press, however, he can feel something else stirring in his chest. At first, he thinks it’s a positive sensation, something like: I’m happy that he found someone that can help him improve like that, that keeps it interesting for him, he needs that. When Jannik informs him of the fact that he congratulated Carlos after he won the whole thing, privately, he understands that what he feels is way different from what he had thought initially. It’s more: I’m losing him, I can’t compete, I’m not as interesting to him. And then the feeling truly sinks in."
