A twitch of the ear, and Spearmaster whips their head up to glimpse an orange lizard shuffling into the morning light. It locks eyes for a moment, and gurgles, frills shaking. Prey, it thinks, huh? Another lizard pops up beside it, then a third a couple spear’s lengths away. Spearmaster could dodge to the side and keep running, or just leap over the lizard’s head…
But orange lizards are slow, and this messenger is fast, fast, fast! So they’re not running, they think, tail bulging until a fresh spear snaps into their hand. They’re not prey, and they haven’t eaten anything all cycle.

Wanted to write something special for thanksgiving this year, and what better than Inv having a dine with their true love!
