The hallway light flared white when he reached the entrance. He unlocked the outer door and caught the smell of rain and blood at once. Zhou Zishu staggered forward a half step and stopped. His shirt clung wetly to his skin, torn open near the ribs, dark with blood. His left hand shook around something. No weapon, just the habit of reaching for one.
And then...
“…didn’t know where else to go.”The words came out slurred, lips pale, and then his knees buckled.
Wen Kexing moved before thinking, catching him under the arms. The weight hit him hard, dead and heavy, and he realized how cold the other man’s skin was through soaked fabric.
“Zhou Zishu.” He said it like a curse and a question at once. “What the hell happened to you?”

No, instead, he walks right in, plays everyone to his whims, watching as they hatch their own theories, rumors, and gossip about him. He had a total of five wonderful days to cause chaos, and only two to actually implement his plan. Perhaps it was a bit...insane...but he had never pretended to be anything but...after all, he was the Master of the Valley.

Zhou ZiShu almost growled, jealousy coiling tight in his chest for a fleeting moment. The air in the room thickened instantly—every man present dropped their gaze to the floor, suddenly very interested in their own boots, none daring to steal another glance at their leader’s spouse.
Wen KeXing, utterly unbothered, slid onto the desk with a slow, deliberate grace, ignoring the world outside of his A-Xu. His voice dripped honey, but the glint in his eyes was all sharp edges.
“A-Xu, I’ve been feeling neglected lately.” He leaned in just enough to make his point. “And we can’t have that, can we?”
Zhou ZiShu’s jaw tightened. His voice came low, rough, just shy of a growl. “Lao Wen.”
A warning. A challenge.

After leaving home at eighteen, Zhou Zishu has had nothing to do with his parents' humble fruit farm, choosing instead to work for his LA cousin, a rising politician with ties to the underworld. Zishu believed he'd found his calling as an assassin - a character assassin, who holds the lives of his cousin's enemies in the lens of his camera. Zishu doesn't believe anything could ever draw him back to his childhood home for good. "What role did the old King have you play that caused you to kill him?" Wen KeXing stared at her, anger marring his features before he laughed.
"Well thought. Well thought. Very well, let us join the Heroes conference, let them pity the poor, abused young man who knows nothing but pain at the expense of another's pleasure. Let us play a game." Wen Kexing could not stop laughing now.Series
