Summary
During the zombie apocalypse, Wriothesley has been going through it, he lost his husband, was on the run after his home became too dangerous to raise his daughter. Then he meets Kaveh, a man living in the outskirts in a fenced in house with a vegetable garden, trying to survive after losing his own husband Alhaitham to the outbreak. Kaveh has graciously let Wriothesley and Sigewinne stay as long as they pull their own weight but mainly because the blond wouldn't dare turn away a parent and child away. But, the trust between these two is shaky at best as they cohabitate and try to navigate the end of the world as best as they can.
But in these trying times any sort of company is appreciated and a reprieve from the isolation that has been haunting all of them. Whatever could go wrong?

When Alhaitham mysteriously dies at the age of 26, Kaveh is left drowning in the seemingly endless void left behind by his best friend. Things only get worse from there, though- a rogue vampire breaks into the funeral home and attacks him as he tries to say goodbye.

Nahida took a sword from under the desk and placed it on the table in front of Kaveh. The sheath of that sword, with the green diamonds decorating it, was enough to remind him of Alhaitham. He always carried those accessories with him, somewhere.
Kaveh brought his hands to his face and fought back the urge to scream and cry. Kaveh should have done more. It should have been him. He should've helped Alhaitham.
"I know it's difficult to accept, and perhaps what I'm about to propose is nothing more than something that will cause you pain, but maybe you can consider joining the organization. After all, it was possible to seal Alhaitham's soul in the sword."
It was known that you needed a pact with the weapon's demon to grant you the power it developed. Furthermore, when you unsheathed the sword, the demon was materialized on this plane. Of course, he assumed Nahida was offering it as an alternative to being able to continue seeing Alhaitham.

Kaveh held the birthday cake and present on his hands as he smiled happily, he spent hours baking the cake and wrapping the present. He was eager to give it to his roommate / husband Al haitham. They've been married for almost 2 years now, Kaveh always thought Al haitham is a boring nobody, not until the day Al haitham proposed to him. Kaveh smiled at the scene of Al haitham proposing replaying in his head, he let out a small giggle as he quickly went home.
Kaveh slowly opened the door..he peeked inside and yelled : "Hello~? Al Haitham!!!" he looks around..nobody was home. He shrugged it off and puts the cake in the fridge, hiding the present in his room. He walked around the house and continued to yell for Al haitham's name. Strangely, no one answered. Kaveh lets out a sigh as he sat on the couch, turning on the TV.
Ding.
Kaveh's phone rang, he picks up his phone, it was Al Haitham. His face lit up and opened the text.
