Summary
It is a closely guarded secret that Madara and Izuna's mother was not Uchiha. By all appearances, her children had known her as a Uchiha and Uchiha only.
It is not until his last older brother is killed in battle, that Madara realizes something is wrong. Tajima refuses to name him heir to the clan and the elders cast him suspicious looks and whisper back and forth when they think he isn't looking. Izuna is likewise treated in much the same manner.
Then comes his tenth birthday, and the truth is revealed.
It's too bad the Senju get involved and Hashirama's love for the natural world ruins everything.

Or, Madara is descended from a line of bakeneko (cat demons) and accidentally turns himself into a kitten. Hashirama ''rescues'' him, thinking Madara is a real kitten and introduces his new adorable pet kitten to his brothers. Tobirama is less than pleased.
