Summary
After taking out the Leviathan leader Dick Roman, Dean Winchester and Castiel find themselves trapped in Purgatory. Castiel immediately disappears, leaving Dean alone, so the hunter must find a way to survive -- and to hopefully find a way home. Monsters and harsh conditions riddle the days ahead, as do the memories of the hunter's past. He has to get back before he loses what was left behind. He has to get back before he loses himself. But first, he has to find the angel.
This story is an alternate version of the Purgatory plot line in season eight. Up through season seven canon is included.
