„You don't always have to fight." he said, his words cutting through the air like a soft command.
Dave's throat went dry. „I'm not—" he started, but it was a half-hearted defense, his usual sharpness failing him in the face of Kirk's quiet force.
Kirk didn't let him finish. His hand stayed steady against Dave's chest, his touch both grounding and disorienting. „You are," he said simply, his eyes locked on Dave's with an intensity that made everything else in the world fade into the background.
