It’s the day of the big experiment, Anomalous Materials were planning on testing sample GG—3883.
Every employee at the facility was adjusting to the work morning, Equipment and transportation technology all over have been bugging out for hours. The elder scientists were getting irritated at the guards and weren’t taking it too kindly for the inconveniences. Overall, it was starting to shape into a slow, long day.Calhoun had just gotten ready for his shift, all equipped.
When he leaves the locker room, one of the lobby guys at a computer calls him over.
He’s been requested to check the level 3 dormitories, specifically Gordon’s Dorm.
“—Mornin’, Calhoun. I know you and Gordon talk to each other. So i thought you might be the one for this,” Apparently, Dr. Freeman was late to a crucial test, by almost an hour, and he didn’t call in sick. The physicist had a tendency to be late. It was annoying, sure. but they never got anyone to check on him before.
Man, he should really buy an alarm or something if it’s getting this bad.OR
Instead of being called to fix an elevator, Barney is sent to check up on Dr. Freeman, but he’s found limp on the floor with a face full of vomit.

Everything was chaotic. Buildings were being bombed left and right. Soldiers were flooding the streets shooting anyone and everyone no matter if you were a rebel or an innocent person caught in the middle. People were screaming and running for their lives. The uprising was never going to be easy, they knew this, but now that they were actually doing it.. it almost was too much to handle. The citadel was up in flames, a loud alarm blaring from the looming tower. Suddenly the entire building lit up with a bright blinding light followed by an explosion that left the ground trembling in its wake. Everyone across the city stopped for a moment and turned their attention to the alien building and watched as it all came tumbling down.

“Well yeah,” Red huffs, crossing his arms. Freeman swears he hears a “duh” thrown in for extra effect, but that might just be in his head. “You’re both either clones sent to kill me or alternate versions of myself, also sent to kill me.”
He punctuates it with a shrug, accompanied by a challenging look. Yellow in fact challenges it, with an impressively disappointed facepalm that sounds like it hurt as much to do as it was to witness. He can feel his parents guilting him for going across the country for college all over again. “Okay! Okay. Why are— Why do all the options include your murder, exactly?”
Freeman nods along with that completely valid question, pretending that the thought of his own murder had not been the first thing to cross his mind when meeting the duplicates. Red sends him a dirty glare, like he knows the truth. Whether or not it’s just some sort of inherent instinct that comes with being the same person, or if he’s randomly got the ability to read minds is anyone’s guess.
Imagine that, versions of him with superpowers.
OR
Gordon Freeman meets himself. Ten times, in fact. Now he's not sure what's more likely to kill him; the end of the world or these maniacs.
