It was a stupid argument. Selfish and self sacrificial on Matthew’s part and he knew that but he couldn’t help it. He had let his emotions get the best of him and hadn’t considered Gunwook’s feelings properly, how he might blame himself for Matthew’s choice. They needed to start again to talk about it properly, rationally. But Gunwook was blinded by tears, deafened by his sobs the sound of his heart hammering in his chest, desperately trying to ignore Matthew’s pleas from behind. So that’s why he’d ignored the traffic light , ignored the sound of an oncoming car going well over the speed limit for a residential area, and that’s why he hadn’t heard Matthew’s screams for him to stop until it was too late.
