Summary
Its January, 2013. Sebastian Solace is on death row, convicted of murder, and he doesn't know how much time he has left. His execution date hangs over his head in a cloud, he's not guilty.
Elena Blackthorne has 28 life sentences, after being found guilty for arson and multiple counts of first degree murder. She didn't mean to burn down her home, but she couldn't let her parents be deported.
Dr. Margot Woods has served 10 years of her life sentence when she is assigned to be Elena's cellmate. Her court date keeps being pushed back, but when it does happen she will be happy to tell the world that she was framed. Until then, she is a scientist with all the time in the world.
Destry Evans was arrested after successfully bombing the male maximum security prison. It made international news that a twelve year old had been sentenced to death row. But he would do it all again, to get ol' pops back.- Language:

Even so, a life is finite and you cannot pull yourself out of The River Styx until the end of time. Each revival left your body slowly deteriorating until you were fit to join the corpses on the ocean floor.
With the weight of your actions hanging heavy on your shoulders, the only route out of hell is marked on the navi-path ai, but you don't know if you'll be able to make it out alive. -

Urbanshade is an organization characterized by ruthless profiteers, motivated primarily by money, no matter the cost in human life. Casualties are merely lost profits, and torture is simply... experimental investments. As such, the corporation guiltlessly snatches up the vulnerable and desperate who have been left to rot in cells or in line for death row.
What happens when the latest bit of turret fodder lacks a will to live, lacks a loyalty to the company, and lacks a desire for freedom? What happens when the latest expendable has no intention of retrieving the crystal?
What happens when, despite these things, they volunteer to enter the Hadal Blacksite anyways?
Then, they'd require a new purpose. One that they just may find in a world of fellow corpses.

Summary
The Hadal Blacksite; Sebastian’s personal prison and hell for the last twelve years. Twelve whole years he had waited, been poked, prodded, examined, handled like nothing but an asset. He had grown sick and tired of it all. The moment he breached the facility came as a long overdue gasp of fresh air.
Sebastian would do anything to keep a hold of his newfound freedom, including joining the slaughtering of expendables after the crystal. He played the role of unlikely ally to them, wearing a smile, trading wares to help their survival and killing them once they turned their back. He wouldn’t squander his shot at freedom by letting them take it. They were just another obstacle to him, and he would cut them down, whether that be through tripwires or turrets or mines or his own claws.
But, it's hard to manage swarms of them, and Sebastian found himself face to face with the one lucky expendable that had slipped through his defences and stolen it. Staring them down, gritting his teeth, and readying his weapons, Sebastian prepared to fight for his chance to see the sun again. Only one of them would be making it out alive and they would have to pry that crystal from his cold, dead hands.
The scrapped ending, kinda.
