After the third season of Ninjago: Dragons Rising ended, information and theories emerged that Kai, Nya, and Jay ended up in Monster Land. It's still unknown where Lloyd and Arin ended up, but others claim that Sora, Frak, Wyldfyre, and Riyu ended up in the same place where the Shadow Dojo was transported.

When the mergequake appears, the two ninja don't know how to close it and get consumed by it. Kai his nightmare has come true, he is in the land of monsters again, but this time with his little brother. Will they escape together or will they become a monster themselves?
Sort of dragons rising rewrite from this point in the serie.

“What?” Nya asked. “Where are we?”
Kai got up and turned.“The Land of Monsters.”
He gazed at the broken remnants of the portal they had walked through.

He can only think of how grateful she’d been to know he was alive, and how he’d wanted to tell her that alive is a relative state, that he hasn’t felt alive since Ras touched a hand to the back of his neck and said good soldier, and maybe not even then.
“I saved you,” she said then, as if it were obvious. “And guess what, Jay? I’m gonna do it again.”
Jay leaves the Monastery after his leg heals, and Nya goes searching for his parents. Set after the finale of DR S3P1.
