Summary
Shadows have fallen on Lagertha, wife of Ragnar Lothbrok. Often she has prayed for help from the goddess Freya, for after her last miscarriage Ragnar has withdrawn from her, and he is now abroad doing the work of King Horik - and whatever else he fancies. Lagertha visits The Seer, who offers only vague, troubling hints about Ragnar. But he tells her that Freya has heard her pleas, and Lagertha may very soon expect joy - as well as rage, grief, and the burden of great choice.
Almost at once, plague falls on Kattegat, and Gyda and Thyri, the daughters of Lagertha and of Siggy, are soon at death's door. Then comes a visit from a stranger who calls himself Accolon - a name, he tells them, that he has taken from a long gone hero.
This story departs from the Vikings canon midway through the last episode of Series 1, after which it interweaves with elements from Marion Bradley's Mists of Avalon, and with original material.

In this loose adaptation of Arthurian myth, the bastard princess Arta fights for the fate of her people as they are beset by Saxons and dark magics, earning her place as Pendragon.
(Spoiler alert, but the tl;dr is Pendragon Rising is a semi-historical dark fantasy take on Arthuriana, except the Saxons have demon werewolves and Arthur has a legitimate half-sibling. And there's an option to play as female.)

Dramione! Our pair aren't Head Boy and Head Girl, but they are sharing living quarters, hmmm interesting….Set after DH and loosely canon, I have deviated in some places for the sake of my plot.
Seventh years were given the option of returning or being granted a set of Acceptable NEWTS as an alternative. Most opted for this, including Harry and Ron, who were accepted straight into auror training at the Ministry of Magic by dint of saving the world from Voldemort, the darkest wizard of all time. A handful opted to return to Hogwarts to repeat their final year, finding a haven in the familiar setting and taking comfort in escaping from the uncertainty and devastation left in the wake of the war.
Yes, this has been done before, many times. Here's my take and it's a little different…Why does Hermione visit the Malfoy's library to research dryads? And why, oh why, does her hair turn pink overnight?
