Summary
Balloon loves him. That’s the only way she knows how to say it, even if love isn't what it feels like. What it feels like is bleeding in the dark, crawling back to someone who never asks you to stay. In the aching silence of Hotel OJ, Balloon keeps giving parts of herself to Nickel, hoping maybe one day he’ll hold them gently instead of flinching. But he doesn’t. He never has.
He hides her. Hurts her. Tells her she's too much, then acts like she’s nothing. But when she leaves, he pulls her back with guilt and silence and that look in his eyes that says he’s the one who's broken, not her. That she should understand. And she does—God, she does. That’s the worst part.
Their nights are quiet, messy. Their mornings colder. No one knows about them. No one should. Because this isn’t love. It’s grief in real time. And she’s so tired of pretending it doesn’t hurt.
She dies, eventually. Not all at once. Just… slowly. In pieces. And he lets her. -

Illumi should remove him. He doesn’t. He watches. And Hisoka watches back.
Two predators in pressed suits. One office. And no one left to stop them but each other.
