If you asked Cecil, dae'd deny having any sort of ‘problem’, drinking or otherwise. If you asked anyone else, they’d say dae had a drinking problem, among others.
Cecil knew he drank too much. He just thought of it more as a solution than a problem. It helped sair stop thinking. It helped sair forget. The cons could be ignored if it meant he could just forget.
So he spent most of nights either blacked out, or hugging the toilet wishing dae was blacked out.

This was slightly inspired by You Weren’t Meant To Be Human by Andrew Joseph White; however instead of the trans man being the bottom, the cis guy is, and some of the behavior from Arthur really was inspired by Levi’s, but Arthur is a much better man.
Some of the themes are more than just sex; it’s meant to symbolize a nonhuman partner being accepted by their human partner, and treated like their ‘type. It isn’t, however, Luis wanting to fuck a dog. Luis is simply accepting Arthur’s nonhumanity while making him feel good, and maybe healing Arthur’s guilt related to his nonhumanity, and queerness.
