Summary
When a pain started in his chest, Erik found himself rubbing at it, thinking this was the worst possible time to get sore, but he decided he could work the soreness out. All he had to do was keep going, working on the house he was building. The pain would go away in time, he was sure.
And that was when his arm went to sleep, pins and needles in his hand and up his arm, something that he wasn’t too pleased about. The biggest question was just how it happened. He hadn’t been sitting any way that should’ve led to his arm going to sleep.
Of course, the more he thought about it, the worse he felt. It seemed like each and every second was taking his energy and strength. All he could manage to do was float himself down from the house he was standing on top of while he was working.

“Hank, I need you to just tell me what’s going on and tell me now. We need to help Erik as soon as possible and I need to know what’s going on right now,” Charles said, not liking having to snap at the other man but something needed to be done. If he could reach him, he had a feeling he would be lightly smacking him on the cheek to get his attention.

A world where the Genesis Project was created was created in 1961 with the intention of creating a mutant army. Project MKUltra, a CIA program aimed at researching mind control and experimentation with psychedelic substances, was launched against Soviet or internal threats, a year after the events in Cuba. Several experiments were born there, and many children were kidnapped. The laboratory continues its secret research, without the population of Hawkins realizing the magnitude of the tests and experiments being carried out. Experiments in telekinesis and mind control are ongoing, with Dr. Martin Brenner and other scientists at the helm. The first four issues were boys and girls who were kidnapped and experimented on, while 005 to 016 were born inside the laboratory.

Erik is a small, shy boy who often falls victim to the school bullies because of his second-hand clothes and glasses. Charles, on the other hand, is very popular and protects Erik from the bullies. Charles, however, lives a terrible home life full of abuse and indifference. The two boys become very close and protect each other. Charles turns to Erik when his family becomes too much for him, and Erik defends Charles from the other kids at school.
Something terrible happens to Erik, so his family has to move from the city and leave Charles behind.
The two friends don't see each other for five years, until they meet again in college. Erik has changed, though, and Charles can no longer see him as the shy boy who was his former best friend. He would love to know why.Series

Erik has spent a decade from his home in Ithaca, fighting a war that was not his own and then against Gods and nature itself. Now, finally home, he realizes he has one more battle to fight before his husband Charles is free of harm and safe in his arms. Charles, meanwhile, has his own plans.
Erik glanced up at the sky, a mottled grey with a few sparse clouds as meager decoration. The beach in front of him was barren. No people fishing on the shores, no birds or crabs darting to and from, only petrified branches and a few scattered shells. Still, Erik’s heart soared. This land, this beach left to ruin, was his home. Not as he left it, not as he wanted it, but it would be soon, once he saw Charles.
Charles. His husband and partner in everything, left behind to rule Ithaca when Thomas Cassidy of Mycenae requested his aid. He hadn’t wanted to go. A war over a woman he never met, who left of seemingly her own free will, was of no interest to him.
But Erik was not naive. A refusal would have meant he and Cassidy were on opposite sides. Ithaca could not afford a war right now. Not when he and Charles were transforming it into a sanctuary for mutants and intellectuals alike.
