How much damage can a soul withstand before it shatters?
Can it ever be repaired?When Sinai wakes up in the Devildom and learns about the exchange program, she decides to deal with her bizarre circumstances the way she's dealt with most things: keeping her head down, rolling with the punches, and giving things her very best shot.
Maybe things would have gone smoothly if everyone was on board with Prince Diavolo's plans.
Not even two months into the program, one of the people she loves the most gets pulled into the Devildom and into mortal danger. Forget about diplomacy; now they need to worry about keeping each other alive.
This wasn't in the curriculum.

Mint eye is famous for both their students and teachers using ill-suited methods to rise to the top. Rivalry amongst classmates also occurs.

No one has yet commented on her dress, or the feminine braids in her hair, though Laurence feels sick just thinking of them. Perhaps her sex has been discovered already, and it's old news. She does not dare ask yet.
Temeraire seems anxious to keep her close, so she listens from a spot between his claws as the argument continues. No one seems interested in her opinion, and some of the details are confusing, so eventually Laurence stops trying to understand and starts glancing around. She looks at the captain closest to her. Does a double-take. “Good lord,” she blurts, interrupting a lull in the talk. “You are a woman.”
This makes a few people laugh. “Yes,” says the woman captain. “Catherine Harcourt. Ah – a pleasure to meet you, I suppose.”
“The Corps has a special dispensation,” says Captain Granby, awkwardly. He has practically trailed her across the ship, and even now stands by her side, though he looks very uncomfortable every time they speak. Almost unnerved. Laurence wonders if they are friends. “Some of the dragons will only take female officers.”
“Oh!” says Laurence, sincerely startled. “I never realized.”
“No,” says another captain. “It is not advertised.”

With the kwamis left in hibernation, no leads on the missing peacock miraculous, and no way to contact her beloved partner, she's left to her wit's end on where to proceed.
That is, until the prime suspect of the peacock wielder coincidentally takes up an apprenticeship at her parents' bakery. Adrien Agreste, son of Hawkmoth, has seemingly planted his roots in her home while Marinette was away for an apprenticeship. This could either be a disaster in the making, or the perfect opportunity to retrieve the missing miraculous... either way, it's war.
At least, it would be, if the gosh darn villain weren't so sweet!
